Conophytum crateriforme CR1427 (Vaalhuewel)

This species had been in cultivation as a form of C. wettsteinii for a long time prior to being named in 2015 (Bradleya 33). It grows within the C. wettsteinii distribution area but has a depressed top surface and a distinctive brown resting sheath with a "pie-crust" edging. It was also compared by its authors to C. francoiseae which has a similarly-shaped but whitish sheath. It has a conventional late-summer flowering season.
