Conophytum subterraneum PD/TS3186 (north of Eksteenfontain)

This is only known from a very small area where it grows in quite large numbers in quartz flats. The plants are completely buried and only the flowers show above ground. The bodies have grown much larger in cultivation than in the wild and are about 20mm diameter in old plants. It does not readily cluster.
